2026 AI Product Search Evidence Index

Corrections should strengthen the evidence, not the sales relationship.

If an Index record contains an objective error, a product representative or member of the public can ask Brandilite to review it. Every request follows the same evidence, timing and version-control rules.

The route

A correction has four traceable steps.

Use the contact form with the subject line "Index correction: Product name". One request may cover several fields when they rely on the same evidence.

01

Identify

Send the product or company name, the affected directory or Index URL, and the exact field, statement or score input in question.

02

Evidence

Provide the proposed correction, a stable public source, the relevant date and your relationship to the product.

03

Review

Brandilite checks the source against the recorded observation, published method and other affected records.

04

Resolve

The requester receives an approval, rejection or request for more evidence. Approved changes enter the version log.

Evidence standard

What a complete request includes.

A clear receipt reduces back-and-forth and lets the reviewer reproduce the issue without relying on private claims.

Required evidence

  • Product or company identity and affected URL
  • The exact value or statement being challenged
  • The proposed corrected value
  • A public source that directly supports the change
  • The source date and, when relevant, the observation date
  • Requester name, work email and relationship to the product

What does not establish an error

  • A request for a preferred category, score or rank
  • Marketing copy without independent or primary evidence
  • A new fact that did not exist in the measured window
  • Disagreement with the published method by itself
  • Payment, product submission or a Brandilite purchase
  • A request to remove an accurate but unfavorable observation

Review timing

Targets begin when the evidence is complete.

These are service targets, not guaranteed deadlines. Complex identity, ownership or third-party source disputes can take longer; Brandilite will send a status update when that happens.

ReceiptWritten acknowledgment

Confirm the request, create a reference and identify any missing fields.

Completeness checkEvidence reviewed

Confirm whether the supplied sources are sufficient for a substantive review.

Written decisionOutcome recorded

Approve, reject or explain what additional evidence is required.

Rank recalculation

One rule for every affected record.

A correction can change a rank only when it changes an eligible scoring input under the published method.

Metadata-only changes

Spelling, canonical URL, ownership or descriptive corrections do not change a score unless that field is a documented scoring input.

Scoring errors

A confirmed data, formula, attribution or normalization error is recalculated under the same method and observation window. All affected eligible records are recalculated together; Brandilite does not apply one-off rank boosts.

Facts outside the observation window

New launches, pages, citations or ownership changes are considered in the next applicable measurement version instead of being added retroactively.

Material cohort impact

If a correction changes eligibility or comparison boundaries, the Index is recomputed for the affected cohort and the scope of the change is recorded.

Version control

No silent rewrites.

Approved corrections create a new dated version while preserving a traceable record of what changed and why.

Version receipt

The log records the request date, decision date, affected fields, prior and updated values, reviewer rationale and supporting source links.

Score and rank receipt

When a score or rank changes, the log records the values before and after recalculation, the method version and the affected comparison set.

Right of reply

A company may submit a concise, attributable response when it disputes interpretation rather than an objective fact. Responses must address the specific record, link supporting evidence and avoid unsupported promotional claims. Publication is subject to relevance, safety and legal review and does not alter the score unless the evidence also proves a correctable error.
